(Ellisidil) the Eagle of Wilderland - Dan F

If you have a character in our game, you will find their journal in this area, as well as some stickied threads near the top of the list for songs and stories. As well Player-heroes (PHs), as they are called in The One Ring, have some basic information here concerning how to build them. A journal means you have the opportunity to develop your character's depth to help you be able to get into them, even in a slow-flow forum-based setting such as our game. Have fun with it... using your journal and helping the group with songs may even lead you to gaining experience for posting about them.

Paul 3 questions
1. What did I miss with Radaghast?
2. I don't know how much I should tell the group? At least 2 of the group should know some of what I learned.
3. Is there anything I need to know to tell them?

My Cousin, my friend, please forgive me if I'm a bit harsh with you, here?

1. Radagast had explained, twice between your previous post and your most recent that he could not remain over night, and there you are trying to say it will be better to plan out the journey in the morning.

I think I have an answer for this: There are red flags with white numbers in them on the dark brown bar toward the upper-right of the page which usually rest on the bell and, sometimes, on the little mail tray directly to the left of that. If you click on the red flag on the bell and follow the red highlighted rectangles once the pop-down menu opens for that, clicking on each red highlighted rectangle will take you to the first response in a thread that was written AFTER your most recent post. I think what's going on is you're clicking on that and then going straight to the bottom, rather than reading everything in-between.

If you're not using those red-flags to navigate around, or if you don't get the red flags because you're using bloody Chrome, or if you ignore those flags and are trying to go directly to the end of the main thread and/or the OOC thread, then you're going to miss a LOT. If you don't like to read, you're also going to miss a LOT. So, my recommendation is that when you click into a thread, any thread, back up to YOUR LAST POST, and read from there, please?

2. How much should you tell the group? Short answer, tell them everything. Middle-earth is not anywhere like our world, whether in medieval times or modern; good and evil has a VERY DISTINCT line between them, with very little gray area between them. So, your fellow Players and their Player-heroes should ALWAYS be on the up and up, always good guys. Even if any of the PHs begin having sanity issues, the rules are written that as the character is having the break with sanity they are considered to be evil, but then can snap back to the light side right away. So, what you tell them is up to you, but withholding information is really not something that's necessary.

Now, if you would like to paraphrase all I shared with you and then share the shortened version, from YOUR point-of-view with them, I most assuredly welcome them and I think your fellow Players would, too.

Now, if we were playing ANY OTHER RPG, regardless of time-frame (fantasy, modern, horror, etc.), you would have something to worry about, because I can make my Player's and, thus, their Character's, entirely paranoid and turn them against one-another, no problem. So, sharing information in those games would be a real gamble. I won't do that in this game, because the world is pure Light vs. pure Darkness.
3. Is there anything I need to know to tell them?
Nothing special that I can think of? If you have any specific issues you might be thinking to explore, I welcome you to ask me; however, it may be better if you tried to ask the other Player's to see what level of information they have, through role-play with their Player-heroes, in the main thread, or in the OOC thread.

All of that sounds good. I don't use Chrome or Edge, as I don't trust either of them, so I'm not entirely sure how they work. My research lead me to understand Chrome is a security problem, and it's owned by Google, the biggest internet spy in the history of our nation, and I don't like Edge because it's Micro$oft, the second-largest internet spy. Internet Explorer, the predecessor to Edge, always had security issues. I also read that Chrome does not fit the way I do things on the internet, because I do more than just viewing pages, such as using this forum; I don't think Chrome is terribly friendly to those activities.

So, it may be Chrome that pushes you to the top or bottom of the page rather than taking you to the post called for in the link. Edge would probably act better, but I don't know.

I want to verify, before I mess up, who all is with us, I have Artorius, Roscoe, Eadnes, Aethelwolf, Moriel, and me. That should be it, or did I miss someone.

Ed has already left us, though, so I'll be playing Glirion until this portion with Strandburg is complete.
