Did you REALLY have to throw in the question mark?

Not quite sure if that is the appropriate title, that is all...

Ohhhh, hehe... I thought you were picking on me, LOL.

Referee, GM, GamesMaster, Monkey with Dice :D :P , LoreMaster, Judge, Rules Lawyer, ... any of those work. If you're talking about specific to The One Ring, then that would be LoreMaster. I'm not as Master with the Lore as I will one day be, but that's the title, hehe.

Well I live in the Nordics. I work for a tech company. Got into pen and paper RPG's a few years back, although had been interested in them before my first game.
Found this site and Paul through a FB group that was based close to where I used to live. No idea how Paul got involved with the group but he sent out a message on it about a LOTR game. I do love LOTR and I enjoy RPing in the setting so I signed up and I have been posting crap here for a couple of years now.

First, I would definitely NOT call it crap, my friend. All of you buoy me through certain days, and I always enjoy reading what you have to write, syntax, sentence structure, spelling (especially getting names right, ahem! ) notwithstanding.

Second, if you're talking about the Chelmsford group on Facebook, I made a very good friend of Gavin Warner in our previous Warhammer Fantasy RPG campaign named The Legend of Goe Orthrond, and we've been friends ever since. He and I have talked through many high and low times, together, for each of us, and that's pretty much cemented our friendship. If the VA comes through and medically retires me, with a big chunk of back pay, I'm intent to come and visit he and Sarah, at least; I would love to be able to afford to see you all, but right now everything's a juggling act and ALL of the bowling pins are in the air.

Thanks everyone.

So just me in UK.
I'm depressingly old being close to retirement as a Headteacher over three schools now.
I'm also a Magistrate and I live just down the road from Chelmsford UK.
I have written rules for ancient tabletop wargames, created a Cthulhu skirmish game which won best game of the year twice and prefer Call of Cthulhu and Runequest as games of choice.
I began this game as the world of role play has changed dramatically from my youth and the year long campaigns seem to have disappeared into one shots or very short stories.

Bryce is in Finland.

Everyone else in USA but the USA players seem miles apart. Can I assume NC stands for North Carolina?
It looks over 1000km from Texas.

Thanks for the info.

Pete

I hadn't realized that the two-thirds of Players we had from the UK are now reduced to one. Pete, I have zero problem putting in more UK folks, if we can find them.

Yep, almost 1400 miles... a little more than a day trip, no? LOL

Dude, I used to live in a drive away. Even went to one of the gaming day events they had in 2017.
Small world. :D

Small world, another Essex guy on an American chaps forum :D
Does it count, at all, that my family ancestry is strongly Norwegian? My Mom told my Brother, Sister, and I we were Irish all the way up until we finally got out of her house a few years, ago, though that apparently has borne out to be incorrect... so, I'm European by origin? Does that help, ? Don't be fooled, however, as I've likely kissed the Blarney Stone, by osmosis, more than my fair share, and my luck is absolutely Irish in its origin, hehe.

Yes, NC stands for North Carolina, I can tell you Paul and I had a grandmother who was, by family, related to the Barnum half of the that famous showman and got our ancestry traced back to the Generation of Mary Queen of Scott's (married to a Barnum) at least that is what I believe my history information has...

Sarah and I are looking at picking up our family ancestry research, again, I think. Just not much time to pursue it, right now.

No idea what I am, probably something very boring but thats fine. I would do a DNA test but maybe when they have a sale. Be cool to see where my roots are, having viking ancestors would be brutal.

It is not completely correct that everyone else is in the US, as I'm in Germany - the western part, near Cologne. That's easy to forget, though, since I'm a night owl and often online at hours that would be more fitting for someone on the other side of the pond. :)
I'm still quite a ways away from retirement, but also far older than I would like to be, and I work as a freelance web programmer / database developer.

RP gaming I started roughly 30 years ago with black book Traveller, and have since played more RPG systems than I can count. These days, what I play the most is Savage Worlds, Pathfinder / Starfinder, and GURPS. Call of Cthulhu is definitely also among the games I enjoy, though I mostly play one-shots at conventions at the present.

Year-long campaigns are still the standard in my face-to-face group, but online, you definitely need to be quite lucky to find a campaign that keeps running longer than a few months (although at least as far as I can recall, that has always been the case - people just seem far less willing to really commit to an online campaign, and far more ready to drop it when something else comes up).

Thank you, sir. Cologne is definitely an area I never made it to when I was serving in Katterbach. Oh, and about telling everyone else, I didn't know if you wanted to tell them yourself, or not. :D
