Background: It is known, from the basic history of the Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play main book, that Elves remain in the Loren Forest, the Sea Coasts, the New World, or the Eastern Slope of the World's Edge Mountains. Apart from the Sea Elves, the Elves as a race remain in seclusion, apart from the world, embroiled in their own labors and lives. What is not spoken of in the main book is that Wood Elves have chosen to continue trade with the Empire and the other nations of the Old World; it is for their very survival, for mutual protection from wandering hordes of chaos, and to keep an ear to the ground, so to speak, for the pulse of the Old World, particularly the Empire, which may decide to come calling at any moment. Man is, after all, a very greedy animal, and as likely to steal your money purse as is to shake your hand.
To the ideal of maintaining proper relations with the rest of the world, three outpost towns were constructed by the Wood Elves of the World's Edge Mountains nearly a thousand years ago, before it was learned Men were not to be readily trusted. The families who populated these outposts, Kalina Lebethron in the North closest to Kislev, Athrado Tarag, near the Dwarven Kingdom of Karak Kadrin and the Peak Pass to the Eastern Slope of the World's Edge Mountains, and Sa'andrine close to the Border Princes and Black Fire Pass, initially went with no small amount of reluctance. However, over time, and with new generations, these outposts eventually became homes to the Elves inhabiting them. Caravans would pass through Sa'andrine six or seven times a year, the last caravan of the year into the mountains wintering at Karaz-a-Karak, only to return the following spring with new goods on their way to trade with Sa'andrine, and the rest of the Empire.
Athaeis, the daughter of the village Baldur(a Woodsman, someone paid to manicure the trees so they do not overrun the village), Addigrayn -a very wise and powerful Elf within the community-, was born in Sa'andrine forty-nine years ago. Having grown up under the tutelage more of her Uncle Lliadron than either her mother or father, she has become a self-spirited and capable woman. She is ready to leave Sa'andrine and see the world, to understand whether the things Uncle Lliadron filled her head with, and what she heard from the varied and lively caravans every two weeks when they came through, was true, or to be disbelieved as her father desires.
This is her story, and a record is being kept here:
